About this role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician / Custodial employee will help maintain a clean, safe, and functional school environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position will perform routine custodial services, basic building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and general repairs throughout the school district facility.

Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and remove trash.
  • Perform basic repairs involving painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, doors, hardware, and fixtures.
  • Complete routine preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain safe and organized storage of tools, supplies, and cleaning products.
  • Set up and break down rooms, furniture, and equipment as needed.
  • Report safety hazards, damage, maintenance concerns, or supply needs.
  • Follow all school district safety, security, and cleaning procedures.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to students, staff, visitors, and district personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous custodial, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to successfully complete any required background check and drug screening.

Work Environment:

This is an onsite position within a school district facility. The employee may work indoors and outdoors and may occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
