Position Summary:
Assists with supervision of night lift attendants/operators. Responsible for breaking Lift Operators and stations, providing communication and directions from Lift Captains to Supervisors, assist in training and documentation with all staff.
RETURNING STAFF ONLY
Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
- Supervises up to 10 staff.
- Trains staff with proper lift operation techniques and required regulations.
- Responsible for maintaining lift ramps and mazes as well as end of day tear-down.
- Stresses safety and guest satisfaction.
- Assists in scheduling and performance coaching of all staff.
- Assists with completing lit operation documentation.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Shovel snow
- Physically lift/assist children and handicapped skiers onto chairlifts.
- Must have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and events.
- Other duties as assigned
Specific Job Skills:
License/Certifications- None
Technical- None
Physical Capabilities- Able to stand outside in all weather conditions and temperatures. Able to assist guests stand up with possibility of lifting 50+ pounds.
Additional – Leadership and training skills preferred; familiarity with Lift Operations and mechanics, snowmobile experience preferred, mechanical experience a plus.
Education/Related Experience:
Minimum education required - English reading, writing, communication and basic math.
Minimum time in related position - On the job experience in Lift Operations – 2 years minimum.
Equipment and Safety/Protective Equipment Used:
Equipment Used: Hand tools, shovels, brooms, Pulaski, rakes, drills, snow blowers, chairlifts.
Gear provided – Helmet, Snow pants, inner snow jacket, and outer shell jacket.
Gear NOT provided – Hat, gloves, base layers, boots, board, skis.
