About this role
At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming outstanding products, services and customer experiences very quickly. We believe that if you bring passion and dedication to your job, there's no telling what you can accomplish! Apple is looking for an individual to join Worldwide Marketing team to deliver successful direct marketing / transactional emails, push notifications and outbound communications.
As a Campaign Operations Specialist, you'll own the end-to-end execution of direct marketing campaigns — email, push and others — on behalf of Product Marketing and Retail in China. You'll design audience segments, build automated workflows, and ensure every message is relevant, personalized, and compliant with China's privacy and regulatory landscape and is meeting required Apple standards. This role is deeply cross-functional. You'll partner with teams across Worldwide Product Marketing, Marketing Communications, AppleCare, Engineering, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Regulatory, Retail, IS&T, and Services to bring campaigns from concept to customer. You'll also serve as a bridge between global strategy and local execution, adapting Apple's marketing to China's unique platforms, regulations, and cultural context.
4+ years of experience in marketing campaign operations Fluent in Simplified Chinese and English (written and verbal) Working knowledge of messaging best practices across email, push, and SMS Hands-on experience with complex audience segmentation and campaign automation Working experience with Snowflake procedures and Vertica database systems Advanced proficiency in writing and adjusting SQL queries Understanding of China's email marketing regulations, including PIPL and local anti-spam laws Familiarity with China's social commerce and messaging platforms (e.g., WeCom, Douyin, Xiaohongshu) and how they fit into broader user engagement strategies Comfortable working across regional and global teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment Able to balance multiple projects concurrently and cut through ambiguity to communicate strategy clearly Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to audiences ranging from team members to senior leadership
2+ years gathering business requirements and working with platform teams to scope and implement new features Deep experience in China's digital marketing landscape — including cultural nuances, local platforms, and messaging ecosystems — with a track record of tailoring campaigns for diverse local audiences Expert-level SQL proficiency; experience with Python or other scripting languages strongly desired Strong background querying and manipulating large datasets for analytical purposes Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Apache Doris, and Vertica database systems, complemented by a basic knowledge of Alibaba Cloud computing. Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders Experience structuring campaign A/B and multivariate testing for optimal learning Basic understanding of HTML and Velocity templating Familiarity with statistical weighting and sampling techniques Proficiency in Excel and Tableau for reporting and dashboarding Working experience with major China email providers (e.g., QQ Mail, NetEase) Strong storytelling ability — can build a narrative around data to influence decisions
