Description


You will utilize your expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to solve engineering problems and discover creative solutions in order to enable robust and reliable sensor technologies. You will perform simulations that will be used to assess performance, design sensitivity, root-cause failure, reliability and much more. As an FEA engineer you will help address engineering challenges with a problem-solving, design-driven mindset to accelerate technology development and deliver world class products. This includes building FEA models, performing model validation and using FEA to provide critical design inputs to ensure performance and reliability goals are met. Simulation is a critical part of the design process and you will be working closely with product design partners, providing critical insights from simulation to ensure designs meet requirements. This position offers a technically challenging and rewarding opportunity to influence design and create real impact on our sensing technology portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum requirement of a bachelors degree Experience with Abaqus, ANSYS, COMSOL, or other FEA tools Strong engineering fundamentals in solid mechanics

Preferred Qualifications


M.S. degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field In-depth knowledge of FEA theory, implementation and numerical methods Experience solving non-linear solid mechanics problems (materials, contact, geometric) Experience in FEA applied to high volume consumer electronic products and sensor technologies Experience in additional analysis/simulation areas (CFD, acoustics, fatigue, and biomechanics) and multi-physics simulations Applied knowledge/experience with material testing & material model calibration Modeling nonlinear materials such as soft adhesives, elastomers, and polymers Proficient in Matlab, Python or other scripting language and experience with using AI tools Knowledge of GD&T fundamentals Experience in data and statistical analysis (Monte Carlo, DOE, statistical process control) Team-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact and collaborate with management, team members and external vendors to achieve project goals, and give positively to the engineering community
