Indian Wells Golf Resort is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to join our Golf Shop team. The Retail Sales Associate supports the day-to-day golf shop operation by delivering exceptional member and guest service, promoting merchandise sales, and maintaining the highest standards of retail presentation. This individual will serve as a frontline ambassador of the Resort, providing warm hospitality and creating an elevated shopping experience for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services
- Greet guests promptly and professionally, delivering a warm and memorable first impression.
- Assist with product selection by offering informed recommendations and personalized service.
- Handle guest inquiries with discretion, diplomacy, and a solutions-oriented approach.
- Build relationships with guests by anticipating preferences and recognizing returning customers.
Retail & Sales Operations
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently for purchases, returns, and exchanges.
- Process payments, issue receipts, and manage financial transactions in line with Golf Shop procedures.
- Actively promote merchandise, apparel, and equipment through suggestive selling and product knowledge.
Merchandise & Shop Management
- Receive, tag, display, and maintain merchandise to ensure a polished and inviting shop environment.
- Organize displays with attention to detail, reflecting IWGR’s elevated brand standards.
- Monitor stock levels, rotate inventory, and assist with monthly and seasonal inventory counts.
- Keep the Golf Shop clean, organized, and presentable always.
Operational Support
- Assist with daily opening and closing responsibilities.
- Collaborate with golf and retail leadership to identify opportunities for improved guest experiences.

Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or customer service experience, preferably in golf or luxury retail.
- Knowledge of golf apparel, equipment, and industry trends preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with guests and colleagues.
- Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and basic computer skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.

- Reports To: Director of Retail / Head Golf Professional
- Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
