New Porgera Limited, a leading name in the mining industry, is currently seeking a Qualified, skilled and experienced Scaffolder to fill in the role of Supervisor – Scaffolding - overseeing the construction, assembly, and dismantling of scaffolding structures at the Plant Site. Based in the Porgera Valley, this position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to a dynamic, safety-focused team in a world-class mining environment.
In this role, you will:
Oversee the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
Ensure all scaffolding activities adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections and promptly address any defects.
Lead and train a team of scaffolders, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
Maintain scaffolding equipment, ensuring regular inspections, repairs, and inventory management.
Coordinate with operating departments to ensure seamless project execution.
Plan and execute tasks effectively using available resources to optimize cost and efficiency.
Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:
An Advanced Scaffolding ticket from a recognized institution
7 - 10 years of hands-on scaffolding experience in erection, modification, and dismantling.
Dual tickets in Rigging/Scaffolding (highly desirable)
Proven leadership and personnel management skills.
Strong self-motivation with excellent communication, technical, and leadership skills.
Effective planning and organizational abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Computer literacy is essential.
Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National Staff position based onsite, FIFO– Arrangement on a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (arranged after the interview stage), and provide a Police Clearance Certificate issued within the last 6 months. Candidates must be available to start immediately. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
