About this role
Overview
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our Wealth Management Technology organization. This is a senior individual contributor role for a highly experienced engineer who will spend the majority of their time designing, coding, testing, and supporting enterprise software.
The successful candidate will combine deep hands-on engineering expertise with the ability to drive standards, coordinate technical dependencies, and deliver complex capabilities across a pod. The role partners closely with engineers, product managers, architects, quality engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to build reliable, secure, scalable, and maintainable Wealth Management solutions.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise-scale full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, and related technologies.
Build scalable, secure, and performant backend services, RESTful APIs, and integration components within a distributed microservices environment.
Develop and enhance modern Angular applications using TypeScript, RxJS, state management patterns, reusable components, and micro-frontend approaches where appropriate.
Use Unix / Python scripts to build services, automation, integrations, data-processing utilities, developer tooling, and AI-enabled capabilities that improve business and engineering outcomes.
Contribute directly to application architecture, API design, data flows, integration patterns, and technical implementation decisions.
Develop reusable libraries, shared services, frameworks, and engineering patterns that improve consistency, maintainability, and delivery velocity across the pod.
Drive adherence to coding standards, secure development practices, automated testing, code quality controls, and software development lifecycle requirements.
Perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex defects, optimize application performance, and resolve production issues with a focus on long-term corrective action.
Collaborate with DevOps and platform engineering teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, observability, logging, monitoring, and operational resilience.
Coordinate technical work and dependencies across teams, surface risks early, and support the successful delivery of complex initiatives without relying on formal authority.
Translate Wealth Management business requirements into well-designed, testable, and supportable software solutions in partnership with product managers, analysts, and quality engineers.
Apply AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, analysis, and delivery while maintaining appropriate quality and control standards.
Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, pairing, design discussions, and knowledge sharing while remaining primarily focused on hands-on delivery.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and supporting enterprise applications.
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, object-oriented design, and microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience developing production-grade solutions using Python, including services, automation, integrations, or data-processing capabilities.
Strong experience building modern web applications using Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML, CSS, and contemporary frontend engineering practices.
Experience designing and consuming APIs in distributed environments, with an emphasis on reliability, security, maintainability, performance, and testability.
Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, including SQL, data modeling, transaction handling, and performance considerations.
Experience with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality tooling, and secure software development practices.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery, the software development lifecycle, production support, and engineering controls in a large enterprise environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, deliver high-quality code, influence technical decisions, and coordinate dependencies across teams.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Must-have technical experience
Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices
Angular, TypeScript
API design and distributed system integration
Automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
CI/CD, Git, code quality, and secure coding practices
Oracle or another enterprise relational database
Preferred qualifications
Experience supporting Wealth Management, Brokerage, Investment, or broader Financial Services platforms.
Experience with FIXML
Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, cloud-native development, and containerized deployments.
Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Experience with observability and diagnostic tooling, including structured logging, metrics, tracing, and platforms such as Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Experience with SonarQube, Veracode, or comparable code quality and application security tooling.
Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
Exposure to LLM integrations, AI agents, or AI-enabled workflow automation using Python.
Experience modernizing legacy applications and incrementally moving capabilities toward modern, reusable platform patterns.
What success looks like
A successful candidate will be a builder first. This individual consistently delivers production-quality code, improves the engineering practices around the codebase, and helps the pod execute complex work with fewer surprises. The role does not have direct reports, but it is expected to lead through technical judgment, dependable execution, constructive influence, and a willingness to solve difficult problems directly.
