Program Director – School-Based Services
Location: Illinois

Shift: Monday - Friday
Job Summary:
Are you an experienced leader in behavioral healthcare with a passion for supporting youth and school-based services? Join our mission-driven organization as a Program Director and take on a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing services that support youth and families in your community.
Under the direct supervision of the Vice President, the Program Director is responsible for maintaining compliant, quality services within a designated business unit. This includes fostering a positive and respectful culture, ensuring compliance with all legal and contractual requirements, and driving program growth through effective quality assurance and team leadership.
As a key leader, you will be responsible for fiscal management, performance tracking, stakeholder relationships, and direct supervision of team members. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator, an empathetic leader, and a strategic thinker committed to empowering individuals and building community partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee fiscal performance and ensure compliance with accreditation standards, licensure, and funding sources
- Identify funding opportunities and assist with grant management and invoicing
- Track and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships including referral and funding partners
- Hire, coach, supervise, and evaluate team members to support program goals and productivity
- Conduct quality management reviews and field observations
- Ensure accurate documentation in databases and electronic medical records
- Work direct care shifts as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of relevant healthcare system experience or five (5) years of behavioral healthcare experience required
- Behavioral healthcare experience in a leadership role preferred
- Master’s degree preferred
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and workflow development skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment for mental health and/or substance use
- Proven experience with program compliance, CARF standards, and audit readiness
- Ability to independently solve problems and make informed decisions
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic health records systems
