About this role

COLSA is seeking a Hardware Security Engineer with FPGA/ASIC experience to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will support the design and development of secure FPGA/ASIC solutions, with a focus on protecting critical hardware and systems from security threats and vulnerabilities.

        Designs, develops, reviews, and modifies complex hardware devices and systems.

        Designs, implements, reviews, and verifies FPGA and ASIC architectures using VHDL, Verilog, and System Verilog.

        Performs RTL design, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and hardware validation throughout the development lifecycle.

        Integrates hardware security capabilities into FPGA and ASIC designs, including cryptographic modules, secure boot, key management, and hardware root of trust technologies.

    Develops and reviews secure hardware solutions to protect critical functions, intellectual property, and sensitive data from reverse engineering, tampering, and other hardware-based threats.

        Supports FPGA/ASIC prototyping, hardware bring-up, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and verification of hardware and security features.

        Supports threat modeling, Critical Program Information (CPI) protection, anti-tamper, and supply-chain risk assessments.

        Integrates protection technologies into hardware systems and evaluates their compatibility and effectiveness against applicable requirements.

        Compiles and evaluates design, test, and verification data and prepares technical specifications and engineering documentation.

        Works with technical and program stakeholders to define requirements, evaluate design trades and solutions, and assess implementation approaches, costs, impacts, and effectiveness.

        Prepares and presents technical findings, identified vulnerabilities, risks, and recommended mitigation strategies.
