About this role

We are looking for a Founding Recruiter to build and own the talent function at Concourse, a fast-growing GovTech startup trusted by 300+ public sector organizations. You'll be the first dedicated in-house recruiting hire, partnering directly with the CEO to source, interview, and close exceptional candidates across technical and forward-deployed roles — hiring 3-5 people per month at a pace that matches the company's velocity.

What will you be doing?

Own full-cycle recruiting end to end — from creative sourcing and outreach to interviewing and closing candidates, often within a single week

Build innovative sourcing strategies to find top-tier talent (engineers, FDPMs, forward-deployed managers) from high-caliber companies and backgrounds

Run a high-volume interview pipeline, conducting multiple screens per day while maintaining a high bar for talent quality

Design and implement repeatable hiring systems, scorecards, and playbooks using Ashby and AI tools to scale the function

Sell Concourse's mission and opportunity to candidates — telling the story of a seed-stage company with 100+ contracts across 35+ states and massive growth ahead

Key Requirements

Experience recruiting at a high-velocity, high-growth startup (recognizable company with real traction — not just "startup" on a resume)

Strong technical recruiting background — must have experience sourcing and closing engineers

Exceptional sourcer who can find candidates through novel, creative channels — not just process execution

Thrives at speed — comfortable moving candidates through an entire interview cycle in a week and managing high daily call volume

Based in or willing to relocate to NYC for 5 days/week in-office (relocation support provided)
