The Role

Esther is QT Auckland's signature dining destination, selected in the MICHELIN Guide 2026, and mornings here are just as considered as everything else. We're looking for a part-time Barista to join the Esther team for breakfast service, bringing the same care and craft to every cup as the kitchen brings to every plate. This is a part-time role with a minimum guaranteed 10 hours per week, with availability for breakfast service hours essential. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a full range of espresso-based beverages including flat whites, lattes, cappuccinos and specialty drinks, consistently to recipe and quality standard throughout breakfast service.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines and coffee equipment, including grinding beans to the correct coarseness for each order to ensure freshness and flavour in every cup.
• Steam and froth milk to the right consistency and temperature, delivering presentation that matches the Esther standard every time.
• Greet guests warmly, take orders with confidence and make thoughtful recommendations that enhance the breakfast experience.
• Monitor and replenish coffee supplies, process payments accurately and maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workspace throughout every shift.
• Stay across the full breakfast menu and uphold all health, safety and hygiene protocols at all times.

What You'll Bring

• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Barista, or a relevant barista qualification. This role is classified under ANZSCO 851111 (Bar Attendant and Barista, Skill Level 4) and candidates must meet at least one of these requirements to be eligible.
• Availability for breakfast service hours is essential.
• A genuine passion for coffee craft and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality beverages in a premium restaurant environment.
• A warm, polished manner and the ability to connect naturally with guests first thing in the morning.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods during service.
• Flexibility to work across a variety of morning shifts including weekends and public holidays.
