What you will do
The Strategic Program Management Advisor serves as a thought leader and consultant, overseeing strategic programs, M&A initiatives, and transformation projects across various domains.
Reporting to the Strategic Program Management Manager, this role involves collaborating with cross-functional and regional teams, analyzing business challenges, and implementing solutions to drive operational excellence and business expansion. As an individual contributor, you will provide data-driven insights, steer corporate development initiatives, manage program execution, and support stakeholders to ensure the success of critical initiatives.
M&A & Strategic Transactions:
- Drive M&A lifecycle activities, including deal scanning, target screening, investment thesis formulation, and post-merger integration (PMI).
- Support target valuation using rigorous financial modeling (DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions) to assess the fair value.
Program Execution & Support:
- Manages day-to-day oversight for large-scale projects; facilitates problem-solving and escalates risks and issues.
- Ensure alignment with organizational objectives by supporting governance frameworks and decision-making processes.
- Monitor program progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to achieve successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with regional and cross-border stakeholders, with an emphasis on China-related engagements to. drive strategic initiatives.
Strategic Support:
- Support the development of business cases for strategic initiatives, securing the investment approvals needed to move to execution
- Assist in facilitating strategic “white sheet” sessions to develop innovative solutions and identify opportunities for growth.
- Provide input on challenging existing business and operational strategies, contributing to transformative outcomes.
Process Improvement:
- Conduct detailed reviews of commercial and operational processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for optimization.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of strategies to recharge processes and improve business performance.
Data-Driven Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze program performance and develop metrics (KPIs) to measure progress and success.
- Create dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights and enable informed decision-making.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to ensure seamless communication and execution of initiatives.
- Act as a key point of coordination for program activities, fostering alignment and trust among diverse stakeholders, including Mandarin-speaking partners.
- Support the Manager in engaging and influencing senior stakeholders to drive organizational change.
You will be a great fit if you
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Marketing, Finance/Economics, Engineering, or related analytical fields. MBA preferred.
- 6-10 years of experience in M&A, corporate strategy (in-house strategy teams), management consulting, investment banking, or strategic project management.
- M&A Expertise: Demonstrated exposure to deal scanning, target evaluation, investment thesis formulation, and post-merger integration.
- Regional & Language Proficiency: Experience working in China or directly with Chinese stakeholders; professional working proficiency in Mandarin is highly preferred.
- Industry Bonus: Prior exposure or operational background within the logistics sector is a strong plus.
- Global Perspective: Bring experience working in a multi-national company or navigating complex cross-cultural environments and geographies.
- Core Competencies: Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and a proactive mindset for driving innovation.
