About this role
- To design shipping containers to maximize CBM utilization in transportation
- Bring new innovative ideas for packaging styles, materials etc. based on industry / new tech updates
- Benchmark NA, EU & IMG plants packaging. Incorporate Best in World design in terms of pkg. & freight costs
- Simulate using Packaging Design oriented tool. Identify best packaging for each part and implement through standardized process
- Drive environmental packaging sustainable solutions for lowest carbon footprint
- Laise with suppliers, plant pkg., purchasing functions to complete on-time Pkg. sign off Prepare reports based on standard reporting formats in Launch milestones.
- Develop and execute comprehensive assessment plans to evaluate supplier dunnage fleet calculators and verify that inventory norms, shipping frequency, and transit times are accurately aligned with Ford data.
- Proactively research and integrate new packaging styles, materials, and technologies based on industry trends and emerging advancements, bringing "Best in World" design concepts into practice.
- Conduct comprehensive benchmarking of packaging practices across North American, European, and International Markets Group (IMG) plants to identify and incorporate global best practices.
- Utilize advanced Packaging Design-oriented simulation tools to identify optimal packaging solutions for individual parts, ensuring their standardized implementation.
- Drive the development and implementation of environmentally sustainable packaging solutions aimed at achieving the lowest possible carbon footprint.
- Serve as the primary liaison with suppliers, plant packaging teams, and purchasing functions to ensure timely and accurate packaging sign-off processes are completed for all new and revised components.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on packaging status and performance, adhering to standard reporting formats throughout critical launch milestones.

Qualifications
Education Qualification: Engineering or other technical degree required. Example: Mech. Engr, Pkg Engr, Industrial Engr, are all acceptable. Degree in Packaging stream is an added advantage.
No. of Years of Experience: 3 to 5 yrs. in Packaging development & Implementation
Professional Exposure: Working knowledge in Pack assist or similar packaging related software's
Technical / System Skills : Hands on knowledge in Ansys, CATIA, CAD, Packaging material selection

Good Knowledge in various packaging methods across industries.
Proficient in System / App – CMMS , MS Project, Access, Excel , Word, Power BI , Power Apps , Python
Preferred previous experiences: Prior experience in any of the following: Packaging development in FMCG , Automotives, pharma, e-commerce companies
Behavioral Skills: Results-oriented. Flexible, collaborative work style. Able to work cross-functional, multi-national teams in a fast-paced working environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Work in USA shift timings (if any required)
Special Knowledge/Skills Required: Proven Packaging design skill sets
Good communication skills in English Language (written and oral)
Any Others: Some travel required
Ability to travel to other countries,
ad-hoc basis
