Overview
Risk Program Administrators (RPA) is a division of Gallagher providing a full spectrum of risk management consulting services to public, private, and nonprofit entities across the United States. Though we pride ourselves on being able to tackle virtually anything in the risk management space, our core services include self-insured program administration; alternative risk financing analysis; third-party vendor management; loss control and prevention; claims administration and insurance coverage review.
How you'll make an impact
We are hiring a Client Staff Accountant to join our growing team!
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, performs a broad range of daily and monthly accounting functions in support of servicing client fulfillment-based needs.
With a focus geared more toward the daily, monthly and quarterly functions in the group, key duties include:
- Take ownership of high-volume AR functions for various insurance programs
- Communicate with clients regarding payments, balances, courtesy notices, etc.
- Prepare backup documentation and enter journal entries into accounting system
- Assist with month end close process
- Monitor and audit incoming payments including ACH and check deposits
- System to system data reconciliations
- Recording / posting client invoices and payments
- Follow up on outstanding customer balances
- Assist with external audits
- Researching and resolving invoicing and payment inquiries and discrepancies
- Performs more routine and established projects
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years' accounting experience
- Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Great organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Understanding of US GAAP
- QuickBooks experience
- Microsoft D365 Dynamics experience
- Audit experience
- Insurance industry experience
