As an Engineering Graduate, you will work alongside experienced professionals to support the planning, design, and delivery of a wide range of engineering projects. Applying the knowledge gained through your studies, you will assist in solving engineering challenges while contributing to high-quality outcomes for our clients and the communities they serve.

This role will work on the design and construction of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other transportation-related structures specifically on projects in partnership with MTO (Ministry of Transportation) and municipalities. They will also undertake bridge inspections, investigations and assessment report preparation.  Moreover, you will be someone who flourishes in a fast-paced and challenging environment with an equally supportive team striving together towards project excellence. Through mentorship, collaboration, and hands-on experience, you will build technical capability, strengthen your problem-solving skills, and develop an understanding of industry’s best practices.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
• Community of Practice Management: Participate in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to begin to build own expertise.
• Contract document preparation for a variety of transportation-related projects involving transportation structures;
• Cost estimating including life cycle cost analysis and construction cost estimates
• Data Collection and Analysis: Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats. Execute design calculations for structural designs and evaluations.
• Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions. Preparation of preliminary and detailed designs of bridges, culverts and other transportation-related structures;
• Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
• Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
• Inspection  of existing bridges, culverts and retaining walls to confirm existing conditions, preparing reports, and organizing large quantities of inspection data. 
• Liaise  with contractors and owners during design and construction;
• Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
• Project Management: Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities.
• Request for Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response: Gather information and resources to assist in the drafting of standardized tenders/proposals in response to bid solicitations, request for proposal, and request for tender.

What you will bring to the Team

• A recent or upcoming University degree in civil / structural engineering 

• 0-2 years of experience related to the role

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically and approach challenges with curiosity.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in diverse and multidisciplinary teams.

• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous professional development.

Salary: Annual Salary for Whitby, Markham, Toronto or Mississauga: $72.000.- | St Catharines $67.500.-  Salary Range is based on the preferred work location. If the selected candidate´s location differs, changes to the salary range may apply.
