As a Graduate Designer, you will work alongside experienced engineers, designers, and project teams to support the development of design documentation, technical drawings, and digital models across a diverse range of projects. Applying the knowledge gained through your studies, you will help deliver accurate and high-quality design outputs that support project objectives and contribute to successful outcomes for our clients and communities.
You will gain hands-on experience using industry-standard design and drafting tools while developing your understanding of design processes, project delivery, and documentation best practices in a real-world consulting environment. Through mentorship, collaboration, and exposure to a variety of projects, you will build your technical capability, attention to detail, and understanding of how quality documentation supports the delivery of effective engineering solutions.

This role can be based in Mississauga, Toronto, Markham, Whitby or Waterloo.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Applications Software Maintenance: Monitor and identify less-complex software defects and suggest corrections for approval by more senior colleagues to maintain fully functioning applications software.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Extract relevant data from information provided by others, and input it into spreadsheets or standard formats.
- Design and Conceptualization: Support others by performing prescribed design activities using existing procedures.
- Operating Machine or Equipment: Operate semi-complex equipment and machines, prioritizing routine tasks to improve efficiency and adjusting multiple related variables to resolve production problems.
- Operational Compliance: Develop working knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work, adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- Product and Solution Development: Support others by carrying out simple product development or engineering tasks, such as gathering data or preparing documents. Involves following established procedures.
- Quality Assurance Testing: Perform a specified range of tests to verify that specifications are met and to reject nonconforming material or articles.
- Solutions Analysis: Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for routine inquiries.
What you will bring to the Team
Candidate for a bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical)
0-2 years of experience related to the role;
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically and approach challenges with curiosity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in diverse and multidisciplinary teams.
A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous professional development.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
A genuine interest in sustainability, innovation, and creating positive outcomes for communities.
Basic knowledge or familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit 3D and MicroStation.
Basic understanding of electrical systems such as power distribution and buildings electrical.
Co-op or intern experience in engineering consulting firms will be considered an asset.
Experience with preparation of drawing packages including drafting will be considered an asset.
Valid driver’s license.
Experience in contacting suppliers for technical product specifications and pricing will be considered an asset.
Experience in conducting of site inspections or general site reviews for construction project sites will be considered an asset.
Experience in preparation of reports and construction tender packages will be considered an asset

Salary: Hourly rate: Mississauga, Toronto, Markham or Whitby $30.- | Waterloo: $28.50.- Salary Range is based on the preferred work location. If the selected candidate´s location differs, changes to the salary range may apply.
