About this role
We are looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to build and maintain production-grade integrations and data pipelines at Gryps, the AI platform for construction capital program owners. You should be a strong Python engineer who has real, hands-on experience with integration work: making API calls at scale, handling rate limits, async processes, retries, and orchestration tools like Prefect, Dagster, Step Functions, or Airflow. This is a role for a self-starter who is excited to roll up their sleeves, maintain and support critical pipelines, and grow into designing systems over time. You'll join a lean, AI-native team of 20 that has increased engineering output 4–5x and is backed by $7.7M in seed funding from top-tier investors.
What will you be doing?
Build, extend, and maintain API integrations at scale, including authentication, pagination, rate limiting, retries/backoff, idempotency, and error handling
Implement and operate orchestrated data workflows and pipelines using tools like Prefect, Dagster, AWS Step Functions, or Airflow
Support and maintain production pipelines day-to-day, investigating issues, improving resilience, and reducing repeat incidents
Deliver well-scoped backend projects from requirements through implementation, testing, rollout, and monitoring
Collaborate closely with senior engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers to translate field insights into durable, reliable product capabilities
