Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

The Packaging Technician I is responsible for a variety of duties relating to the packaging of manufactured products which include following packaging electronic batch records and standard operating procedures (SOP’s). In addition, this position will be responsible for cleaning equipment and work areas, packaging and palletizing, labeling, in process inspection and other related packaging activities.

 

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

 

  • Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble packaging equipment.
  • Clean and maintain great housekeeping in processing rooms and surrounding areas.
  • Operate packaging equipment and HMIs.
  • Monitor equipment performance and perform basic troubleshooting or report issues to supervisor.
  • Follow established cGMP’s, SOP’s, and electronic batch records.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in equipment logbooks and other relevant records.
  • Ensure product and component inventory and availability in staging areas for uninterrupted operations.
  • Conduct accurate product reconciliation and component returns to ensure proper inventory accuracy.
  • Package finished product into boxes and palletize in an efficient manner.
  • Continuously monitor and inspect product quality during processing.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations.
  • May be required to assist in other departments to support workload.
  • Meets performance standards for quality, productivity, reliability, initiative, safety, and work relationships.
  • Attends all company training sessions and completes additional trainings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Skills:

 

  • Ability to manually handle packaging product in a quickly and timely manner
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to apply basic math skills required to control inventory
  • Ability to document and use an electronic batch record
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Compliance with all safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to understand, speak, read and write in the English language
  • Basic computer skills

 

Experience:

 

  • Experience working/participating in a team-based environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
