Sr. Engineering Manager – OpenBlue Data Platform

Location: Pune, India

Summary

Lead engineering delivery for a core part of OpenBlue's data platform, spanning platform development, migrations, data unification efforts, and ongoing stability and quality work. Manage a multi-level org of managers, leads, and ICs across dev and QA, and coordinate closely with other engineering pods to keep releases on track.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a multi-level engineering org (Eng Managers, Tech Leads, Developers, Test Engineers)
  • Drive major engineering initiatives and platform migrations
  • Own sprint delivery, testing support, and production deployment cadence
  • Manage project plans, timelines, and dependencies across workstreams
  • Partner with product/architecture on technical roadmap
  • Manage performance, career growth, hiring, and staffing across the team
  • Report status/risks to leadership and cross-team stakeholders
  • Coordinate with QA leads on defect burn-down and release quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ yrs software engineering, 3+ yrs managing managers/leads
  • Experience with large-scale data platform initiatives (cloud data warehousing, Iceberg/Snowflake/Postgres)
  • Experience with event driven architecture
  • Experience with Kafka, SNS/SQS, Event Hubs or other message brokers
  • General familiarity with Java, .NET, JavaScript, and React
  • Strong grasp of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and sprint-based delivery
  • Track record leading on-site engineering teams
  • Strong stakeholder management with US+UK-based leadership
  • Strong written and verbal English proficiency
  • Experience with observability and production support (monitoring, alerting, on-call)

  • Experience with large-scale system consolidation or platform unification projects
  • Experience with API commercialization
  • Background in IoT/building-management
  • Frontend/fullstack development experience
