About this role

The Reliability Engineer identifies and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations at our Chandler Arizona aluminum extrusion plant.

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability to ensure safe and efficient aluminum manufacturing operations. This role leads preventive and predictive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and maximize asset performance. What you will work on:

  • Lead the plant reliability program and drive equipment uptime improvements.
  • Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs to improve equipment uptime and reduce unplanned failures
  • Partner with maintenance Manager to optimize maintenance schedules and work execution.
  • Conduct root cause failure analyses and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor reliability metrics including MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and downtime trends.
  • Implement predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasound testing.
  • Support maintenance planning, scheduling, and asset management programs.
  • Maintain accurate asset data within the CMMS.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects to reduce maintenance costs and increase equipment reliability.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are prioritized based on equipment criticality and business impact.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality requirement.

Safety & Housekeeping Responsibilities:

  • Operate in a warehouse environment, handling raw materials and finished goods with care and efficiency.
  • Safely operate power tools, hand tools, and forklifts to perform tasks, such as cutting, drilling, and lifting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field preferred.
  • Five plus (5+) years of maintenance, reliability, or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in aluminum, metals, or heavy industrial manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of RCM, RCA, FMEA, TPM, and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or Oracle.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Hydraulic, Combustion, and Electrical knowledge a plus.
    • Able to lift 35 – 50 pounds on a repetitive basis.
