Job Summary
The Laser Operator is responsible for producing high-quality products in a safe, efficient manner by setting up, operating, and performing some basic programming tasks. This role involves ensuring that production equipment operates effectively, meets customer specifications, and adheres to safety standards.
- 2nd Shift Hours: 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m., with availability to work overtime as needed.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Prepare production equipment for operation by making necessary adjustments and assisting with equipment changeovers to ensure smooth transitions between production runs
- Operate laser equipment to ensure it runs efficiently and produces quality output consistently
- Maintain quality standards by conducting first-piece and in-process inspections
- Complete production control charts and analyze recordings to ensure products meet customer specifications
- Make necessary equipment adjustments to maintain product quality
- Helps trains others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures
- Maintains machine operation by solving production process problems; making equipment adjustments; reporting production and quality data; reporting decisions made; referring questions to the supervisor
- Maintains production operations by following policies and procedures (equipment, raw and in-process materials, and finished goods); reporting needed changes
- Ensures operation of equipment by following preventative maintenance policies and procedures; reporting needed changes and repairs
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed through cooperation with team members and acceptance of re-assignments as directed by supervisors
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, routers, and other production documentation
- Proficiency in basic math and measurements, including the use of hand-held measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to operate laser equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all relevant safety protocols
