As a Platform Architect, you will use hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement experience to build, support, and optimize digital messaging solutions across email, SMS, mobile, and related channels. You will translate business requirements into technical configurations, develop automations and integrations, troubleshoot platform issues, and support SFMC best practices.
This is a hands-on engineering and delivery role contributing to solution designs and reusable platform patterns while partnering with senior technical leaders on complex integrations and broader architecture decisions.
What You Will Do
SFMC Development and Implementation
Build and maintain scalable Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement solutions.
Translate business and campaign requirements into technical configurations.
Develop journeys, automations, segmentation logic, and campaign workflows.
Create platform solutions using AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, and GTL.
Configure Data Extensions, Contact Builder, Journey Builder, and Automation Studio.
Support REST and SOAP API integrations with senior technical team members.
Assist with platform audits, health checks, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Follow development, testing, deployment, and documentation standards.
Client and Team Support
Serve as a hands-on technical resource for assigned clients and delivery teams.
Participate in requirements gathering and technical discovery sessions.
Explain technical requirements, recommendations, and platform limitations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Support SFMC capability, configuration, and best-practice recommendations.
Collaborate with developers, project managers, strategists, analytics teams, and technical specialists.
Escalate complex architecture, integration, and platform decisions when appropriate.
Platform Optimization
Review SFMC configurations to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Optimize journeys, automations, data structures, and campaign workflows.
Stay current on SFMC releases, platform changes, and new capabilities.
Support implementation of relevant platform updates and messaging best practices.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
Create and maintain technical documentation, including workflow diagrams, configuration details, and specifications.
Document platform solutions, development decisions, and troubleshooting outcomes.
Contribute to reusable assets, coding standards, internal best practices, and team knowledge sharing.
What You Bring
Technical Experience
4 or more years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement development or implementation experience.
Experience with AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, and familiarity with GTL.
Experience with Data Extensions, Contact Builder, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and audience segmentation.
Experience supporting REST or SOAP API integrations.
Experience with Marketing Cloud Connect, SFMC Connector, or similar integration methods.
Background in software development, technical implementation, platform configuration, and SFMC troubleshooting.
Understanding of development, testing, and deployment practices.
Consulting and Communication Skills
Client-facing, agency, or consulting experience preferred.
Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Comfort working through changing requirements and technical ambiguity.
Ability to manage assigned work and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.
Domain Knowledge
Understanding of digital messaging across email, SMS, mobile, or push channels.
Familiarity with data quality, consent, campaign execution, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other relevant privacy or messaging requirements.
One or more Salesforce certifications preferred, such as Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Administrator, Consultant, or Developer.
The annual salary range for this position is $68,000 - $96,075. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
