About this role

Meta is seeking a data center Critical Facility Associate to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers. The IC2 Critical Facility Associate is an entry-level position within Meta’s Data Center Operations team. This role is designed for individuals beginning their careers in technology or data center operations, with a focus on learning foundational technical skills, following established procedures, and supporting the reliability of Meta’s infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform required preventative maintenance, per the Global Maintenance Library.
  • Perform assigned corrective maintenance, such as air handler filter changes, dock drain cleaning, pit water pumping, relief fan maintenance, and general building and equipment upkeep.
  • Supports the critical facility operations of a data center environment through the performance of building inspections and alert investigations.
  • Escalate issues to facility management appropriately and timely.
  • Support necessary rack orchestration workflows, including tap box relocation and liquid cooling turn-up.
  • Assist in supervising vendors/subcontractors during equipment/systems maintenance and service.
  • Escort and oversee the work of vendors on non-critical facility systems.
  • Required to work on a shift schedule, which may include nights and holidays.
  • Adhere to all Meta Environmental, Health and Safety policies including Control of Hazardous Energy and Job Safety Planning.


Minimum Qualifications

  • One year background with focus on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general facility services
  • Use hands and fingers
  • Reach/push/pull with hands/arms/shoulders
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Lift and/or otherwise move 45 pounds or more
  • Able to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods of time


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments
  • Knowledge of EAM/CMMS systems
  • Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings
  • Knowledge of datacenter functionality


$64,002/year to $79,997/year + bonus + equity + benefits
