Join Microsoft's Public Sector Sales Team in Austria and drive innovation together with public sector organizations across the country. You will collaborate across diverse solution and specialist sales teams, help customers navigate complex decision-making, and translate their requirements into tangible outcomes built on our platform.
As the Account Technology Strategist, you act as a virtual chief technical officer for your customers, synthesizing business insight with deep knowledge of Microsoft solutions and industry trends to shape their digital transformation journey. You will lead technology strategy formulation, build mid- to long-term technical roadmaps, and orchestrate global and local teams to design and land end-to-end solutions that align to customer business objectives. You serve as the voice of the customer and of the industry, help originate and shape new opportunities, and coach technical specialists on how to position Microsoft technologies for business value.

Responsibilities
Serve as a virtual chief technical officer for key accounts, synthesizing business insight and technical depth to shape the customer's digital transformation strategy and technical roadmap.
Lead technology strategy formulation by aligning customer needs to Microsoft solutions, creating mid- to long-term roadmaps, and orchestrating cross-functional and cross-industry resources to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Act as the voice of the customer and of the industry, mapping technical and business requirements to Microsoft technology platforms and ensuring customer feedback influences product and solution direction.
Develop and drive new opportunities by creating demand, presenting solution options to customers, and coaching peers on how to initiate, qualify, and maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline.
Orchestrate and enable internal teams and partners, establishing practices for account planning, delivering regular industry and technology briefings to customer decision-makers, and using readiness resources to build capability across the account team.
Document and articulate the customer's business objectives, technology landscape, and AI and security strategy to lead and drive AI and security conversations with technical and business decision makers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field AND several years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience; OR equivalent experience.
Deep technology understanding of the enterprise environment.
Fluent German and English language skills, written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
Several years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience within complex customer environments.
Several years of experience in a relevant customer industry, preferably the public sector.
Several years of experience in digital transformation or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.
Experience acting as a trusted technology advisor to decision makers, orchestrating global and local virtual teams and partners, and influencing without direct authority.
In line with our Flexible Work approach, for roles at Microsoft Austria, we recommend spending at least two days per week in the office or at the customer site.
Account Technology IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Austria is € 91,000.00 - € 182,900.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
