Senior Mechanical Engineer
Custom Cable Design | Navy Defense Systems

We are hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer supporting Regional Strike Programs and U.S. Navy defense platforms, with responsibility for mechanical and electromechanical equipment design, testing, implementation, fabrication, and installation. This role requires mechanical engineering experience with 3D CAD such as Solidworks, mechanical modeling and drawings, electronics packaging, manufacturing and fabrication methods, production and installation support, environmental testing, modeling and analysis, and DoD/industry engineering standards; experience with Ansys is also desired.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, implement, build, and support installation of mechanical and electromechanical equipment across multiple U.S. Navy platforms.
- Develop mechanical designs, 3D models, engineering drawings, and related technical documentation using CAD tools.
- Support electronics packaging and mechanical integration of equipment and components.
- Apply mechanical engineering, physics, and materials science principles to develop safe, efficient, and reliable mechanical solutions.
- Support production, fabrication, assembly, and installation activities throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Plan and support environmental testing, modeling, analysis, and prototype fabrication.
- Evaluate designs for manufacturability, performance, reliability, and compliance with applicable technical, government, and industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership in project design, testing, and prototype development activities.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI tools and methods to engineering processes for continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree plus a minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with CAD modeling tools used to create mechanical models and engineering drawings.
- Cable design experience, preferably custom cables
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods.
- Knowledge of applicable technical, government, and industry engineering standards.
- Experience supporting mechanical equipment design, testing, and prototype fabrication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire.
- CREO experience
- Experience with Ansys for engineering modeling and analysis.
- Electromechanical equipment design experience.
- Electronics packaging design experience.
- Production and manufacturing support experience.
- Equipment installation and installation support experience.
- Environmental testing experience.
- Mechanical modeling and analysis experience.
- Engineering drawing development experience.
- Experience supporting U.S. Navy, DoD, defense, or military platform programs.
