The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Mine Technical Services, the Superintendent Geothermal Operations will lead the site's geothermal function, providing strategic direction and technical oversight to safely manage geothermal risks across the operation.
This role is critical to ensuring geothermal activities support safe mining, operational performance, slope stability, mine planning outcomes, and compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. You will lead a specialist team while partnering closely with Mine Operations, Technical Services, Geology, and external consultants to deliver sustainable mining outcomes
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing geothermal team, promoting a strong safety and performance culture.
- Develop and execute strategic geothermal plans supporting mine design and operational objectives.Provide technical leadership for geothermal depressurisation, cooling, monitoring, and risk management programs.
- Coordinate geothermal drilling programs, instrumentation, data collection, geological mapping, and testing activities.Monitor geothermal and hydrological conditions to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Deliver accurate and timely technical advice to operational and leadership stakeLead and develop a high-performing geothermal team, promoting a strong safety and performance culture.

About You-Training & Experience
You are an experienced technical leader with deep expertise in geothermal engineering, hydrology, geotechnical, or related mining disciplines. You thrive in complex operational environments and enjoy leading teams to deliver safe and sustainable outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Geothermal Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in geothermal operations, mine technical services, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of geothermal systems, hydrology, slope stability, and mine design principles.
- Experience with instrumentation, monitoring systems, and technical data interpretation.
- Proven leadership experience developing and managing technical teams.
- Demonstrated capability managing consultants, contractors, projects, and budgets.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
- Excellent risk management, problem-solving, and business improvement capability.
