Purpose
As a Technician, Processing, you’ll play a key role in operating critical sections of the process plant, including grinding circuits, flotation, and thickener operations. Your work ensures safety, efficiency, and production targets are met shift by shift, contributing directly to Newmont’s operational success.
Essential Duties
- Prioritize Safety: Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, report hazards, and actively monitor plant conditions.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work constructively with diverse teams and participate in shift handovers, toolbox meetings, and training.
- Drive Production: Operate plant equipment, complete inspections, and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Control Costs: Identify and report cost-saving opportunities and minimize waste.
Training & Experience
- Proven experience in heavy industry, preferably mining (essential).
- Grade 10 education minimum.
- Tertiary qualifications and metalliferous processing certificates are highly regarded.
- Class 6 PNG Driver’s License.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, time management, and technical knowledge in mineral processing.
- Safety-conscious, proactive problem solver, team player, and adaptable to changing work conditions.
Working Conditions
This is a FIFO role on a 28:14 rotating roster.
