About this role

Overview

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to own CI/CD pipeline reliability and Azure infrastructure-as-code end to end, with real autonomy to set the standards and roadmap the broader DevOps org builds on. You'll partner closely with the innovation lab to get new experiments into production fast, and work at a strategic level, shaping the CI/CD vision and driving the complex roadmap items other teams are constrained on, rather than being tied to any single team's day-to-day delivery cadence.

It's a role built on trust and technical ownership, and you'll do it alongside a DevOps org that values close collaboration over solo heroics.

Responsibilities

Success will be measured by how many fragile, manual processes you turn into standardized systems other teams can rely on, how much infrastructure-as-code becomes the default instead of the exception, and by how real — not just projected — the cloud-cost savings you find turn out to be.

  • Assess the current CI/CD and cloud deployment pipelines, and turn at least one fragile, manual pipeline into a standardized, repeatable one with automated testing and rollback built in.
  • Build and document standardized Terraform modules across core Azure services — AKS, Key Vault, App Services, Storage Accounts, and Data Factory — making infrastructure-as-code the default, not the exception.
  • Build out log aggregation and metrics visualization, chart a roadmap for the metrics that matter most in StackGen, and get observability baked into every new project from the design phase forward.
  • Own identity federation (SAML/OIDC) and AD/Entra ID domain management as an ongoing responsibility with a set review cadence.
  • Put automated cloud-cost monitoring and optimization in place that surfaces real savings within six months.
  • Set the CI/CD vision and drive the strategic DevOps roadmap items other teams don't have the bandwidth for, partnering with the broader DevOps org on shared standards.

Qualifications

  •
  • 3-5 years of CloudOps/DevOps experience supporting PaaS/SaaS environments.
  • Deep hands-on fluency with Terraform, Azure infrastructure-as-code, and containerized deployment via Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Proficiency across core Azure services, including AKS, Key Vault, App Services, Storage Accounts, and Data Factory, and Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
  • A track record of turning manual, one-off processes into standardized, repeatable systems others can rely on.
  • Comfort owning identity and security configuration (SAML/OIDC, AD/Entra ID) as a first-class, ongoing responsibility, not an afterthought.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with experience working in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments.
  • The ability to operate at a strategic level, setting direction and vision, without needing day-to-day delivery-team oversight.

Preferred

  • Experience partnering directly with an innovation lab or R&D function to get experimental work into production quickly.
  • Familiarity with StackGen or comparable observability/tagging platforms.
  • Prior experience setting DevOps standards across multiple teams rather than inside a single team.
