Position Summary
The DPRV Inspector is responsible for performing dimensional and visual inspections of aerospace components to ensure that products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, drawings, and applicable quality standards.
The position plays a key role in ensuring product conformity before components move to the next manufacturing operation or are released to the customer. The DPRV Inspector works closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other support functions to identify and resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of aerospace components according to engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and work instructions.
Verify product conformity using appropriate inspection and measurement equipment.
Perform DPRV inspections and ensure that all required characteristics are properly inspected and recorded.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and inspection requirements.
Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
Verify the calibration status and proper use of inspection equipment.
Record inspection results accurately in the appropriate quality documentation and/or manufacturing systems.
Identify, document, and communicate non-conformities and quality deviations.
Support the investigation of quality issues and participate in root-cause analysis when required.
Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve dimensional and process-related issues.
Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards, internal procedures, customer requirements, and safety rules.
Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability of inspected products.
Support first article, in-process, and final inspection activities as required.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects and improving product quality.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection work area.
Perform any other duties related to quality inspection as assigned by the Quality Management team.
Required Qualifications
Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Metrology, Quality, or a related field.
Previous experience in dimensional inspection, quality control, or manufacturing is preferred.
Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry is an advantage.
Good understanding of mechanical drawings and GD&T.
Ability to use precision measurement and inspection equipment.
Basic knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving methodologies.
Good computer skills and ability to work with manufacturing/quality systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of dimensional metrology and inspection techniques.
Experience with CMM or other advanced inspection equipment is a plus.
Familiarity with AS9100 and aerospace quality requirements is an advantage.
Ability to analyze measurement results and identify trends or deviations.
Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English.
