About this role
SAIC seeks an experienced, detail oriented, and energetic Test Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the Software Test Engineer is responsible for responsive and coherent planning, development, and delivery of PARCS and UEWR assessment of systems and networks within the environments to identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
Job Duties:
Responsible for code test coverage of software under development which modifies the software baseline of the PARCS ground-based radar.
Designs, develops, and documents unit tests that will be turned into version unique tests (VUTs) for PARCS software release delivery testing.
Aids developers in lab tests and debugging application software in a classified lab located at Peterson Space Force base. Support system integration, test, development, and execution of complex systems.
Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for testing PARCS software.
Develops technical solutions to complex testing problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Participate in troubleshooting systems to resolve complex issues, interact, and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining operational and test systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s and two plus (2+) years’ relevant experience.
Secret Clearance
Experience testing backend host software as well as frontend graphical user interfaces.
Experience with Unix and Windows systems.
A basic understanding of thread mechanics, such as blocking vs non-blocking operations and synchronous vs asynchronous tasks.
Desired:
Experience with real-time embedded software and ground-based radars.
Knowledge of Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise.
Experience testing code for highly available mission operations systems and legacy code platforms such as assembly language.
- Experience with Solaris Operating system.
