About this role

Principal Business Process & Technology Consultant

Position Summary

We are seeking a senior, highly consultative problem solver to work directly with healthcare customers to improve business processes, solve operational challenges, and identify where technology, data, automation, or process change can create better outcomes.

This is not a traditional Business Analyst, Project Manager, or Process Improvement role. The successful candidate will independently own ambiguous business problems from discovery through implementation and measurable improvement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead process discovery with executives, managers, and frontline teams.
  • Map current-state workflows and identify bottlenecks, rework, failure points, and unnecessary complexity.
  • Determine root causes rather than simply documenting requested changes.
  • Design improved future-state processes using business, operational, technical, and data-driven solutions.
  • Use data and SQL where needed to validate assumptions and inform decisions.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
  • Partner with Development, Operations, RCM, IT, and other teams to implement solutions.
  • Build and maintain clear project plans, owners, milestones, risks, and next steps.
  • Challenge customer assumptions respectfully when process change is more appropriate than software development.
  • Measure whether implemented changes actually improve the business.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional problem solving and systems thinking
  • Strong business process discovery and redesign experience
  • Strong business and operational acumen
  • Technical fluency with software, databases, APIs, integrations, automation, and reporting
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis
  • Strong facilitation and customer consulting skills
  • Executive presence with the ability to work equally well with frontline staff
  • Strong project ownership and follow-through
  • Highly self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Preferred Experience

Healthcare experience is strongly preferred, particularly in areas such as clinical operations, RCM, EHR/EMR systems, authorizations, eligibility, claims, scheduling, or healthcare technology.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

  • Healthcare technology consulting
  • Senior software implementation or solutions consulting
  • Business transformation consulting
  • Business systems analysis
  • Healthcare operations combined with technology
  • Product or operational transformation

The ideal candidate combines business, process, technology, data, consulting, and delivery skills to solve real business problems.

    • Business Administration
    • Healthcare Administration
    • Information Systems
    • Computer Science
