Target Hourly Compensation: $22 - $25/hour
Job Summary
The Development Engineer Intern supports the project development process, schedule, accuracy, and workflow, with a focus on Street Lighting projects. Street Lighting projects typically include LED conversions, lighting controls, and related infrastructure improvements. Daily responsibilities include analyzing field audit and utility data, supporting GIS mapping and photometric analysis, assisting with fixture and controls selection, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, and developing project cost estimates, proposals, and supporting technical documentation. The target dates for this role would be April-May 2027, through Mid-August 2027.
Employees are expected to be available during normal business hours and to be logged into a group work sharing and communications during those hours. All members of our team are expected to work together in a positive, respectful, and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering and sales in project development, with a heavy focus on thorough communication and the development of proposals and supporting documents.

Analyze field audit, utility, and GIS data for accuracy and completeness.

Assist with photometric modeling, energy-savings calculations, and other technical analyses under direct supervision.

Participate in site visits, field audits, and QA/QC activities as needed.

Upload and maintain all internal documentation in provided collaborative IT environment and manage document control processes.
- Any, and all ad-hoc reporting, requests or other tasks deemed necessary.
Qualifications

Working towards undergraduate degree in engineering, environment studies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or business.
- Work experience collaborating with others required.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical or power systems.
- Experience performing sales liaison and client collaboration in energy or related industries.

Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Professional communication skills.
- Support and participate in continuous process and quality improvement.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, phone, and keyboard. May regularly need to lift up to 20 lbs., unassisted.
