Your role

You are the named administrator and lead model builder for our enterprise planning platform (a modern cloud planning solution such as Pigment, Anaplan, or Workday Adaptive Planning). You will be hands-on from selection support through implementation, go-live, and continuous improvement — owning model architecture, integrations, standards, and the day-2 change process that keeps the instance healthy for years, not quarters.

This is a builder’s seat with high visibility: the platform you run underpins the annual operating plan, a continuously updated rolling forecast, and executive and board-level reporting for a ~$800M global software company with multiple product lines, regions, and routes to market.

What you’ll do

  • Own the platform end to end. Serve as named administrator and lead model builder: instance architecture, dimensions and hierarchies, security and access, versions and scenarios, environment and release management, and documentation.
  • Build the planning model. Driver-based models across revenue, headcount and compensation, operating expense, and cost of revenue, culminating in integrated three-financial-statement outputs (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with scenario and sensitivity analysis executives can use in the room.
  • Make planning continuous. Engineer the actual-to-forecast cycle so a new forecast scenario is live within days of close — automated data loads in, standardized reporting out, minimal manual ETL.
  • Enable decentralized forecasting. Design input experiences budget owners actually use — templates, workflows, and collection surfaces that let 10+ functional owners maintain their own forecasts with FP&A reviewing rather than re-keying.
  • Own the integrations. Build and maintain connections to our ERP, CRM, and HRIS (NetSuite, Salesforce, SAP SuccessFactors) and to upstream data platforms, in partnership with our Business Applications and data teams; drive data-load automation as a measured KPI.
  • Set the standards. Model-building conventions, a definitions register for planning metrics, change control with an auditable trail, and regression testing of model changes against history — so the instance never becomes a black box.
  • Enable and train. Onboard finance and business users, build reference materials, and run the enhancement backlog; coordinate implementation and managed-service partners where they add leverage.
  • Deprecate tech debt. Continuously retire workarounds, shadow spreadsheets, and stale logic; measure adoption, cycle time, and load automation and report them honestly.

What you bring

  • 5+ years in FP&A or finance systems, with 3+ years of hands-on model building and administration of a leading enterprise planning platform (e.g., Pigment, Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, OneStream) — you have been the named admin of a live production instance through complete annual planning and forecast cycles.
  • You have built integrated financial models in-platform, including driver-based P&L, personnel, and revenue models, and ideally full three-statement outputs with scenario management.
  • Integration experience connecting a planning platform to ERP, CRM, HRIS, or a cloud data warehouse; comfort with data transformation, mapping, and load automation (SQL and/or platform integration tooling).
  • A real accounting and FP&A foundation — you understand the close, the trial balance, deferred revenue, and how a forecast reconciles to actuals; you speak both finance and systems fluently.
  • A track record of adoption, not just builds: you have trained non-finance budget owners, simplified rather than over-engineered, and left behind documentation someone else could run.
  • Rigor and judgment: you phase scope, you say no to model complexity that will not survive its builder, and you treat auditability as a feature.

Nice to have

  • Platform certifications (e.g., certified model builder / solution architect) on one or more major planning platforms.
  • Experience at a subscription software company — ARR models, cohort and renewal planning, bookings-to-revenue mechanics.
  • Experience implementing or re-implementing a planning platform from selection through go-live, including partner management.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted planning workflows and an informed, practical view of where they help and where they don’t
