We are looking for a dynamic Senior Accountant to become a vital part of our vibrant Finance team, working in Hungary.  

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assigned areas of the financial general ledger and reporting process which may be localized, global or a combination of both. This position, in the future, may assume the accounting for the Hungarian entity. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, improve processes, and ensure effective internal controls.

This role is hybrid working from our Budapest office. 

Insight on your impact:

  • Review and analyze the areas of the local and global financial accounts assigned for accuracy and completeness. 
  • Ensure the accounts assigned are transacted in accordance with US GAAP and Local GAAP.  
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely reporting. 
  • Analyze both vendor and customer activities to ensure accuracy and proper posting. 
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with manager. 
  • Assist with external audits and coordinate with auditors by providing required documentation.  
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices. 
  • Participate in special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.  
  • In the future, assist with an evaluation of the Hungarian entity accounting and assumption by the Hungarian accounting team of the full accounting functions from the third-party accounting firm. This will include GL, AR, AP, Cash, & Financial Reporting. 

Your qualifications, your influence:

To be successful in the role, you must possess the following skills 

  • Degree or Certification in Accounting or additional 3 years in active accounting role 
  • 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in medium to large corporate environments. 
  • Strong knowledge of Local GAAP, with good knowledge of US GAAP. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar). 
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and diligence. 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Fluent in Hungarian and English 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a challenging environment.
