About this role

  • Calibration and Testing: Fine-tune, test, and align transmitters, sensors, control valves, and gauges to precise operational standards using specialized tools like loop calibrators and multimeters. 
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic faults in machinery and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), replacing defective parts to reduce downtime. 
  • System Installation: Set up new instrumentation infrastructure and connect related electrical circuits following engineering schematics and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams). 
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out routine scheduled inspections and upkeep according to a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). 
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all calibrations, repairs, parts usage, and updates made to plant layout drawings.


  • Requirements

  • Education: Associate degree, technical certification, or vocational training (such as an ITI in Instrument Mechanics) in electronics, industrial automation, or instrumentation technology.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in electrical and electronic principles, and the ability to read complex wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Diagnostic Proficiency: Skill in operating test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and digital logic probes.
  • Soft Skills: High attention to detail, manual dexterity, and clear communication abilities to coordinate with engineers and operators.
