Position Summary:

We are looking to expand our technical team and are seeking a goal-oriented, high-energy Junior Software Engineer Co-op to join our Know Your Business (KYB) team.

In addition to our general onboarding projects, our Know Your Business (KYB) work offers a chance to dive into some of Trulioo’s most complex integrations. Unlike standard workflows, KYB integrations are typically built and maintained fully in-house, requiring creative problem solving and close collaboration across teams. You’ll gain hands-on experience with large-scale data systems, working with OpenSearch and other AWS data stores to design, optimize, and scale solutions that power real-world business verification.

This is an 8-month, fixed-term position based out of our Mount Pleasant office in Vancouver, following a hybrid work model with three in-office days per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work as part of a cross-functional feature team to deliver complete, high-quality, end to-end solutions.

  • Work collaboratively with Engineering and Product to expand stories into tasks, and work on removing impediments.

  • Collaborate in meetings with Senior Engineers to integrate deliverables, optimize the automation processes, and plan future implementations.

  • Based on user story acceptance criteria, work with the team to design a scalable, robust, and reusable solution to that story.

  • Document and communicate designs to others on the team.

  • Contribute to guidelines and coding standards used for building reusable application components that are easy to maintain, troubleshoot, and test.

  • Participate in peer design and code reviews.

  • Identify and assist in mitigating technical, schedule, and other project risks.

  • Provide technical input into product road maps, negotiating compromises between business and technical constraints.

  • Provide input into process improvement initiatives to improve quality and timeliness of deliverables with high predictability.

  • Use AI tools, such as Codex and Claude Code, to support code development and initial reviews, with guidance from the team

What You’ll Bring

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.

  • Exposure to developing user interfaces, custom services, components, or modules using Microsoft stack.

  • Familiarity with the .NET framework, ASP.NET MVC, Web API and C# or ReactJS and JavaScript.

  • Exposure to database systems, MySQL, MS SQL Server. Knowledge of NoSQL databases is an asset.

  • Understanding of test-driven development and agile/iterative development methodologies.

  • Able to learn quickly and effectively apply new knowledge, demonstrating the desire to stay in touch with emerging technologies.

  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Very strong collaboration skills and passion for work in a team environment with ability to resolve conflicts and align people.

  • Exposure to AI coding tools, such as Codex and Claude Code, would be an asset.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Entity Framework, LINQ to Entities, and Lambda Expressions.
