About this role
This position is located at the National Support Center (NSC) in the South Denver Metro Area (I-25 & Colorado Blvd).
This Human Resources Generalist serves as administrator for several critical human resources functions and workforce management, including recruiting, employee relations, benefits, Learning & Development, employee engagement, leave and attendance tracking, and employee records. Facilitates and communicates organizational policies and programs and ensures law and regulatory compliance. Provides internal support and partnership to business lines. May evaluate, select, and oversee vendors. Coordinates with HR support staff to process and maintain employment and other records.

Benefits
- Answer routine questions regarding benefits, serving as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, attendance, and HR policies
- Assist with leave requests in accordance with FMLA and company policies
- Assists with administration of Tuff Shed’s 401(k) and ESOP plans including annual audits
Employee Relations
- Document employee relations issues, serving as liaison in communication and conflict resolution
- Support tasks related to employee discipline, involuntary terminations, employee investigations
Employee Records
- Maintain HR files and records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
- Assist with HR reporting, policy updates, and other administrative tasks as assigned
Learning & Development
- Coordinate, track and administer Leadership Onboarding programs
- Works with Learning and Development Manager on maintaining and updating onboarding content
Recruiting
- Provide back-up support to recruiting team regarding job postings; offer letters
- Provide back-up support to HR Specialists regarding pre-hire onboarding of new hires and offboarding employees
Miscellaneous
- Supports audits as needed
- Support HR initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture; assist with documentation and follow-up on HR related functions
- Performing all other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Tuff Shed management
EXPERIENCE
1-3 years of Human Resource Generalist experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferred
Demonstrated experience in areas of employee relations, benefits, and recruitment, preferred
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of multi-state federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices
Broad knowledge of HR industry practices
Demonstrated proficiency with HRIS systems
Hands-on computer skills in Microsoft Office and Internet applications required
Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to interact with employees at all levels, responding to employee questions and concerns
Ability to exercise discretion, diplomacy, good judgment and respect for confidentiality
Ability to solve problems using sound logic and good business judgment
Ability to prepare written correspondence and reports that create a professional image for Tuff Shed
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the public
Ability to work scheduled in-office hours is required to:
- Allow for direct supervision, observation of work performance, real time coaching and feedback, clarification of assignments and priorities, and timely intervention when questions, errors, or last-minute changes arise
- Provide face-to-face onsite and real-time support to other employees, management, and leadership
- Adapt to changing priorities, obtain direction and approvals, receive job-related feedback, observe and participate in company culture to assist with problem solving, and building relationships with onsite interdepartmental peers and leaders
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
High school diploma OR equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources preferred
CERTIFICATIONS
HR Certification preferred
WORKING ENVIRONMENT and TRAVEL
Indoor office setting
100% in-office; may travel occasionally
May be required to work overtime (including some weekend work) to fulfil the requirements of the role; in addition, s/he must work scheduled on-location hours as scheduled and must be present in the office, as scheduled, and work all required hours
