Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Floor Supervisor will lead the assembly team, manage daily production execution, and ensure throughput targets are met. They are responsible for enforcing ERP transaction accuracy and partnering with engineering to optimize manufacturing processes and quality standards.
Requirements
Candidates must have at least 3 years of supervisory experience in an electronics or hardware manufacturing environment. Proficiency in ERP systems and a strong background in hardware assembly, testing, and technical schematics are required.
At XKL, we are the optical transport network experts. We innovate and build the technology that securely connects networks and is the foundation of the global optical internet. Our leadership includes one of Cisco’s original co-founders and a team of optical networking professionals with over two decades of deep technical expertise. As problem solvers we take the time to truly understand the business problem each customer has and deliver a solution that meets their business goals and technical requirements. Our clients’ success is our top priority, and we focus on service just as much as we do on designing cutting-edge DWDM hardware and software.
The Role
As we scale our production floor to meet growing customer demand, we are looking for a hands-on, metrics-driven Manufacturing Floor Supervisor to lead our assembly team, champion shop floor discipline, and establish a scalable operational foundation. In this role, you will own daily production execution and lead the physical assembly environment. You will directly manage our team of hardware technicians and partner with engineering to ensure quality standards, safety protocols, and throughput targets are met. Crucially, you will enforce real-time ERP transaction discipline on the floor, ensuring all physical work accurately mirrors our digital system.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership & Throughput: Oversee daily assembly, testing, and firmware flashing operations. Manage line balancing, assign daily work to technicians, and ensure high-value OEM hardware builds are completed safely and on schedule.
People Management & Scalability: Directly manage, mentor, and coach the technician team. Design structured training matrices, establish onboarding pipelines for future hires, and conduct performance reviews to support long-term career growth.
Shop Floor ERP Discipline: Drive and enforce strict ERP transaction accuracy on the production floor. Ensure technicians log labor, issue materials, and systematically "start" and "complete" work orders in real-time as physical assembly happens.
Continuous Improvement & Quality: Partner closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to resolve build defects, optimize workstation layouts, implement 5S standards, and minimize manufacturing cycle times.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe, organized, and ESD-compliant (Electrostatic Discharge) electronics manufacturing environment. Ensure all machinery, tools, and testing equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience within an electronics, electro-mechanical, or technology hardware manufacturing environment.
Technical Aptitude: Strong background in hardware assembly, system-level testing, troubleshooting, and reading technical schematics or build instructions.
ERP Familiarity: Experience utilizing an ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle) to monitor work orders, track labor, and verify material availability on a production floor.
Leadership Style: A hands-on leader who leads by example on the floor, possesses excellent conflict-resolution skills, and can communicate effectively with both executive leadership and entry-level technicians.
Knowledge Base: Strong familiarity with ESD protection standards, quality control methodologies, and Lean Manufacturing/5S principles.
XKL Perks
· 401(k), medical, dental, and vision
· Competitive PTO package offered
· 10 paid holidays
· Paid long-term disability
· Competitive compensation
· Plenty of snacks
·A dynamic role with the autonomy to shape and scale a growing manufacturing organization
