Position Summary We are seeking an RCM Billing Specialist to support the revenue cycle by processing and following up on medical claims, managing accounts receivable, resolving insurance denials, and maintaining accurate patient accounts. This position works closely with insurance carriers, patients, and internal teams to maximize timely and accurate reimbursement. Key Responsibilities
Process medical claims, follow up on outstanding balances, and support collections to maximize receivables.
Review EOBs and reconcile patient accounts to ensure accurate payments, adjustments, and balances.
Manage outstanding A/R across commercial, government, and self-pay accounts.
Research, appeal, and resolve insurance claims and denials.
Verify patient insurance information, eligibility, deductibles, exclusions, and authorization requirements.
Communicate with insurance companies, patients, families, and internal departments regarding account questions and payment issues.
Enter patient information, charges, payments, and account updates accurately into electronic systems.
Obtain necessary authorization numbers, codes, and payer approvals for services and procedures.
Handle challenging situations professionally and maintain patient confidentiality.
Assist with front-desk calls and scheduling as needed.
Complete required training and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 year of office experience; healthcare experience preferred
Strong understanding of administrative and recordkeeping processes
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Strong organization and attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Knowledge of patient confidentiality, medical terminology, and office ethics
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software
Preferred
Healthcare billing, RCM, claims, or insurance experience
Experience with insurance verification, A/R, EOBs, or denial management
BLS certification
