Wastewater Systems Engineer
The Wastewater Systems Engineer is responsible for the technical operations of wastewater treatment systems and potable water systems onboard a Fleet of US-Flag cruise ships. The Engineer oversees day to day operations and maintenance of systems, remote monitoring, sampling, quarterly and annual maintenance. The Water Fleet Manager provides technical support to resolve problems to shipboard crew. The Engineer will assist with developing Standard Operating Procedures, operation placards, maintenance manuals and provide ongoing training. The Manager will implement SOPs related to system operation and maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
The Wastewater Systems Engineer will travel to conduct monthly on-site inspections onboard the ships and may perform maintenance and provide training to the shipboard crew. The Engineer provides immediate response for critical repairs to ensure the Fleet remains on schedule.

Responsibilities:
Oversees operation of wastewater treatment systems.
Coordinates all sampling for regulatory compliance and to aid in system troubleshooting.
Monitors systems remotely.
Ensures systems operate correctly to prevent unscheduled shore side pump outs.
Oversees operation of potable water system.
Manages chlorination of potable water.
Coordinates sampling events for potable water.
Oversees Company Water Management Plan.
Manages inventory of spare parts and consumable items.
Works with municipality for installation of sewage pump out stations at docks.
Provides training onboard ships to shipboard crew.
Ensures safe potable water onboard through use of onboard chlorination systems.
Works with shipboard Engineers to solve problems.
Oversee preventative maintenance of MSD systems.
Identifies and troubleshoots technical vessel problems and provides fast solutions to minimize downtime.
Expedites vendors for critical repairs.
Assists with maintaining maintenance and repair logs.
Develops SOPs for water systems and trains shipboard crew members (Engine Room Attendants).
Provides support for vessel compliance with all USCG, USPH, FDA, EPA, etc.
Prepares sampling data reports for regulatory reporting by Director of Engineering.
Completes onsite inspections.
Assists with acceptance and commissioning of water systems for new cruise ship construction.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial and commercial wastewater treatment systems. Particularly fixed media and membrane bio-reactor systems.
Experience complying with FDA and EPA regulations.
Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
