About Us
Medical data exchange is one of the biggest unsolved problems in US healthcare. If you've spent any real time in the healthcare system, you've felt it, and it only gets worse the sicker and older you get. Metriport exists to fix that. We connect to the data sources the healthcare providers of tomorrow need, take raw data that's unusable in its source form, and turn it into a single clean format that care teams, and their agents, actually use to improve outcomes. Record retrieval across thousands of legacy systems and antiquated data pipes that used to take weeks now takes seconds. Clinicians walk into appointments with the full patient picture already in hand, and that speed can mean spotting a condition early enough to actually treat it.
We're not a healthcare company. We're a technology company that happens to operate in healthcare, and we build every layer ourselves: connect, transform, and insight. Legacy EHRs were built to get providers paid, not to serve the clinical experience. We're building what should have existed instead: the system of record for all of US healthcare. We started in data exchange. Today we compete with the largest data platforms in the space. Tomorrow we will be the infrastructure layer healthcare runs on.
We’ve raised $28.4 million from top-tier VCs (including Matrix, ARTIS and Y Combinator), found product-market fit (multi-million dollar ARR, 100+ customers including Amazon One Medical, Circle Medical, Color Health, and Strive Health), and have years of runway ahead of us. If you’ve had a good healthcare experience in the past few years, there’s a good chance Metriport was behind it. That’s the version of healthcare we want people to not just expect, but demand. Join us and build the future.
About You
We're a small, high-output team, mostly former founders including YC alumni, and we operate with real autonomy and almost no bureaucracy. We hire on competence, not pedigree. Leaders are in the office six days a week, and we generally expect the team to be available six days a week too. Not because we count hours, but because there's always more wood to chop when revolutionizing how tomorrow’s healthcare providers deliver care to their patients today. We trust our team to take the time off they need and we've never said no to a time off request.
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong sense of ownership. You don't wait to be told what's broken. Instead, you believe you can figure out any problem that lands in your lap even outside your exact domain. When someone scopes something for three weeks, you ask why it can't be done in three days, and you also know the difference between shipping a fast v0 and cutting a corner that comes back to bite you. You walk the tightrope between craft and speed without falling off either side.
The Role
This isn’t a standard FP&A role where you sit behind a spreadsheet and wait for instructions. As our first dedicated Finance hire on the BizOps team, you will manage our entire financial stack end-to-end. You will be responsible for the integrity of our books, the efficiency of our revenue collection, the automation of our internal financial operations, and more.
If you need "perfect information" to make progress, or if you think any task is "beneath" your background, this is not the right fit. We need a Swiss Army Knife who can lead a board-level financial review in the morning and troubleshoot a HubSpot-to-Stripe sync in the afternoon.
What You’ll Own
The Financial Stack: End-to-end management of banking, invoicing, bookkeeping, and FP&A.
The Close: Own month-end and year-end close, ensuring books are pristine by the 15th of each month.
Operations & RevOps: Heavily support the Sales team by driving RevOps efforts and integrating systems (e.g., HubSpot to Stripe, Stripe to QuickBooks).
Reporting: Track and improve our collections rate, budget vs. actuals (BVA), and departmental purchase request turnaround.
External Relations: Serve as the professional face of Metriport to accountants, investors, vendors, and customers.
Requirements
Experience: 5+ years in Investment Banking, MBB Consulting, or a high-growth startup (Seed to Series B).
Process Ownership. You have 2+ years of experience creating processes from scratch and better existing processes in a professional work setting.
Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
Technical Mastery: Expert-level Excel and Google Sheets skills. Powerpoint skills that can distill complex data into clear narratives.
Ambiguity Tolerance: You thrive in fast-paced environments and know how to drive projects to completion without a playbook.
Location: Based in San Francisco (or willing to relocate) with a 5-day-a-week in-office presence.
The "Metriport" Mindset: Low ego, high ownership. You ask "Why can't this be done in 3 days?" instead of 3 weeks.
Bonus Points
Automation: Experience automating workflows via Zapier or Python script.
Familiarity With Finance Tech: Proficiency with QuickBooks, Brex or Ramp, Stripe, and CRMs.
Domain: Experience in the Healthcare IT or Healthtech space.
How We Measure Success
Are the books closed by the 15th?
Is our collections rate exceeding our target threshold?
How tight is the delta between our budget and our actuals?
Are you reducing the "work about work" by implementing better processes?

Metriport provides real-time access to medical data for 340 million individuals across the US. Its open-source platform turns scattered patient records across all major healthcare IT systems into structured information that gives clinicians what they need, exactly when they need it, to provide the best possible care.
Metriport manages dozens of connections across all national HIEs and QHINs, state and regional HIEs, ADT networks, pharmacies, labs, and EHRs. It then matches, extracts, standardizes, deduplicates, and enriches records, and converts them into a unified data model, accessible through a single API, data warehouse, or apps directly within an EHR.
In addition to providing longitudinal patient clinical data at the point of care, Metriport offers ambient monitoring, alerting providers in real time as patients are moved through the healthcare system to assist with transitions of care. Metriport also delivers insights on top of the data, like AI medical record summarization, condition suspecting, and surfacing care gaps.
Founded in 2022 and headquartered in San Francisco, Metriport processes 4.2 billion network requests a month and returns the first structured record in under 15 seconds. Teams across care delivery, value-based programs, and health tech platforms build on Metriport, including Amazon One Medical, Strive Health, Color, Sollis Health, and Canvas Medical.
