~40 hrs/week
Responsibilities
Design and develop laboratory fixtures, prototypes, and engineering systems while performing reverse engineering and 3D scanning tasks. Collaborate with scientists to convert technical concepts into practical capabilities and maintain engineering documentation.
Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and strong mechanical problem-solving skills. Candidates must be US citizens eligible for a Secret security clearance and capable of hands-on laboratory work.
You see a technical problem and immediately start figuring out how to build the solution.
Maybe the team needs a fixture that does not exist. Maybe an aircraft component needs to be reverse engineered. Maybe a 3D scanner captured the geometry, but somebody needs to turn those points into a useful engineering model. Maybe an evaluation needs a test device next week and there is no catalog number for what the scientists just dreamed up. That is where you come in.
You like CAD, scanners, prototypes, fabrication, measurement systems, aircraft, and solving practical engineering problems.
You are just as comfortable at a computer as you are in a laboratory, fabrication environment, performing evaluations or around an aircraft.
