Perform routine and complex neurodiagnostic procedures to obtain clinical data for nervous system disorders. Collaborate with medical personnel to maintain equipment, document patient history, and ensure patient safety during testing.
Requires a high school diploma with 6 months of patient care experience or an associate/bachelor degree. Candidates must obtain CPR/BLS certification and complete a specific neurodiagnostic training program.
UPMC Procirca is looking for a full time Neurodiagnostic Technician I to join their dedicated team in Erie, PA.
You will perform under direct supervision and according to established guidelines and procedures, routine and complex procedures to obtain data for use in the clinical diagnosis of disorders of the nervous system in at least one of the following modalities of Neurodiagnostics: Electroencephalogarphy (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Epilepsy Monitoring and Polysomnograhy (PSG), or Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS). Perform duties in various diagnostic and research areas as assigned.

This position requires a significant and unique education and training commitment. During the first year on the team, the candidate will be required to travel to Pittsburgh (UPMC Presbyterian, Wexford OP Clinic), 2 to 4 times per month. Hands-on training will not begin immediately. An intense 2-3 month didactic education program and observation will precede any hands-on patient experience.
