What You’ll Do
Staff Pharmacist is a health professional who interprets physicians’ prescriptions, contacts doctors or other prescribers and/or patients to verify prescriptions, review assessments, provide patient counseling and associated documentation and expedite processing of order.
Provides drug information to healthcare providers and patients and participates in all daily clinical activities for the Pharmacy Service.
Provides pharmacy services to patient and medical practitioners. Fills prescriptions, dispenses medicines, counsel’s patients and medical practitioners regarding the nature and use of drugs.
Assures that patient care is maintained through compliance with the company’s quality improvement plan and Florida Board of Pharmacy standards for pharmaceutical services.
Accurately reviews and interprets medication orders and verify that the information is complete and accurate. Review profiles for correct drug, dosage, and route of administration; ensures that no drug duplication or drug-drug interaction exists; ensures that patient is not allergic to any medication prescribed. Contact the patient's doctor/nurse, if necessary, to clarify directions, strengths, or allergies.
Verify accuracy of records and prescriptions daily. Accurately reviews and interprets medication orders and verify that the information is complete and accurate. Review profiles for correct drug, dosage, and route of administration; ensures that no drug duplication or drug-drug interaction exists; ensures that patient is not allergic to any medication prescribed.
Contact the patient's doctor/nurse, if necessary, to clarify directions, strengths or allergies.
Participate in pharmacy quality improvement management projects and staff meetings.
Maintains accurate patient profiles including patient demographics, medications, medical conditions, allergies, and insurance information. Checks insurance eligibility.
Aligns/synchronizes medications. Completes medication reconciliation. Assigned facilities. Maintains accurate patient profiles including patient demographics, medications, medical conditions, allergies, and insurance information.

Requirements
Education/Professional:
Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
Advanced training in disease management (e.g., autoimmune disorders, HCV, diabetes, and inflammatory disorders) is preferred. Certified as an HIV Pharmacist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine preferred.
Physician group or pharmacy manager experience is strongly recommended.
Must hold a valid pharmacist license issued through the Florida Board of Pharmacy
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver’s license.
