Description
Las Vegas, NV | In-house legal | Employment law | Litigation support | Multi-state | California employment law experience a plus | EEOC | PAGA | FEHA | Veterans encouraged to apply
IS THIS YOU?
You're an experienced L&E paralegal who is organized, deadline-driven, and genuinely skilled at managing the complexity of employment litigation, agency charges, and multi-state compliance work
You have 2+ years of paralegal experience in labor and employment law from an in-house team or law firm -- and you understand how to support both legal counsel and HR stakeholders simultaneously
You're ready to bring your litigation support experience, California employment law familiarity, and document management skills to a growing in-house legal team that operates across multiple states
WHO WE ARE
Swickard Auto Group is a hospitality company that happens to sell and service cars. We believe the best guest experiences start with the best employee experiences. That's why we've grown to 40+ rooftops across the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii while maintaining a culture built on one simple idea: do right by people, every time.
Our Legal & Shared Services team in Las Vegas supports Swickard's multi-state operations across California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, and Nevada. The Labor & Employment Paralegal is a critical in-house role that supports both the legal department and Human Resources with employment disputes, government agency charges, litigation, compliance, and investigations. This is hands-on, substantive paralegal work in a fast-moving, multi-jurisdictional environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support management and defense of government agency charges -- drafting position statements, gathering evidence, organizing documentation, and coordinating with in-house legal counsel and outside counsel for EEOC, DFEH/CRD, NLRB, and state agency matters
Assist with employment-related disputes and litigation -- managing discovery, preparing exhibits, maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with the in-house legal department and outside counsel
Draft and review routine employment documents, separation agreements, arbitration agreements, demand letters, and correspondence
Maintain employment law compliance calendars and track regulatory deadlines across all operating jurisdictions
Support workplace investigations -- organizing documentation, preparing summaries, and maintaining investigation files
Conduct legal research on federal and multi-state employment law issues as directed by the in-house legal or Human Resources departments
Maintain organized case files and records within the company's matter management system and document repositories
Assist with the company's employment policy updates and handbook revisions
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
2+ years of paralegal experience in labor and employment law from an in-house legal department or law firm -- required
Paralegal certificate or related degree preferred
Experience with litigation support -- discovery, exhibits, case file management, and deadline tracking -- required
California employment law experience is a strong plus -- wage and hour, PAGA, FEHA, and CFRA familiarity highly valued
Strong knowledge of employment law, including government agency charge processes, PAGA, FEHA, EEOC, DFEH/CRD, and state-level compliance requirements
Excellent time-management and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a compliance-focused environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal document and matter management systems
Discreet, professional, and able to handle confidential employment matters with complete discretion
WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive salary -- commensurate with experience
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
Life insurance and supplemental coverage options
Paid time off and paid holidays
Career growth within a growing in-house legal team supporting a 40+ rooftop multi-state organization
Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts
WHY SWICKARD AUTO GROUP -- LEGAL & SHARED SERVICES
Substantive, multi-jurisdictional L&E work in a growing in-house environment -- this is not a siloed role; you'll work directly with legal counsel and HR leadership across a complex, active caseload
California-heavy employment law exposure across a multi-state footprint -- wage and hour, PAGA, agency charges, and compliance work across jurisdictions that challenge and develop your expertise
A Shared Services team in Las Vegas alongside HR, finance, and operations leadership -- a professional, collaborative environment built for people who want to do serious work and grow with the organization
Swickard is one of the fastest-growing dealer groups in the country -- ranked Top 5 in North America for reputation in the automotive industry
Our HEART values -- Honor, Engage, Anticipate, Respond, Thank -- shape how we operate, how we treat our employees, and the culture you'll be helping to protect and support
If you're a skilled L&E paralegal ready to bring your litigation support experience, California employment law knowledge, and multi-state compliance capabilities to a high-growth in-house legal team -- we'd like to meet you.
We want to be the favorite of our employees, customers and manufacturing partners.
