Overall Function
The Member Relations & Development Operations Coordinator plays a key role on the Development team, supporting donor retention, recurring revenue, and operational excellence. This position serves as the primary coordinator for EDF's sustainer operations and complex member case management while providing administrative and project coordination support to designated senior Development leaders. Working across Membership, Development, and program teams, the Coordinator strengthens donor stewardship, streamlines departmental operations, and helps ensure an exceptional donor experience. This position reports to the Project Manager, Member Services, with assigned support responsibilities for select senior Development leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Member Engagement & Case Management
Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex member communications and donor cases, managing issues from intake through resolution.
Interpret policies and procedures to resolve discrepancies related to gifts, recurring donations, matching gifts, and donor records.
Proactively identify and address issues that may impact donor satisfaction or retention.
Escalate high-risk or highly complex cases when appropriate.
Other duties may be assigned as part of the job’s requirements.
Development Operations & Leadership Support
Provide administrative and project coordination support to designated senior Development leaders.
Coordinate calendars, meetings, travel, and logistics for recurring leadership meetings and Mission Briefings.
Schedule Mission Briefings with EDF program teams, coordinating presenters, agendas, materials, and follow-up communications.
Prepare meeting materials, presentations, expense reports, and other administrative support as needed.
Track action items and support follow-through on departmental priorities and initiatives.
Serve as a liaison between Development leadership and internal partners to facilitate communication and coordination.
Sustainer Program Operations
Support the administration of EDF’s monthly donor program.
Monitor recurring gift activity and identify payment failures, duplicate sustainers, and data inconsistencies.
Coordinate sustainer recapture and retention workflows in collaboration with Digital, Direct Mail, and Data teams.
Support multi-channel sustainer campaigns and track operational follow-through.
Assist with reporting and tracking of sustainer performance metrics.
Contribute to acknowledgment and stewardship efforts that deepen monthly donor engagement.

Qualifications:
Associate degree in a relevant field with at least 3 years of experience in donor relations, membership services, customer service, or direct response fundraising. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent may substitute for up to 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience supporting recurring donor or sustainer programs preferred.
Experience providing administrative, project, or operational support to senior leaders or cross-functional teams.
Experience coordinating meetings, calendars, or departmental projects.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate administrative needs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to apply professional judgment and independently manage moderately complex workflows.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Experience conducting donor stewardship outreach by phone and email.
Experience tracking reports, metrics, or operational follow-through.
Ability to apply judgment in resolving donor records and recurring gift issues with accuracy and discretion.
Proficiency in CRM/database systems and Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience preferred.
Demonstrated self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across all cultures and backgrounds.
