With a dialed-in grow operation and a bold new brand refresh, we're ready to dominate the MD/DC market-and have a little fun while we're at it.
Lab Manager
Our Lab Manager will be responsible for overseeing lab production activities including extraction, distillation, post processing, third-party testing, white label partnership production, safety training and consumable inventory management. This Manager will ensure lab department is compliant with company, state, and industry standards.
Your role in caring for our company:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Extraction: Monitoring extraction technicians in operating primary and secondary extraction equipment, troubleshooting lab equipment, handling WIP materials, routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of lab equipment
Post Processing: Monitoring staff during filtration, refinement, distillation, solvent recovery, decarboxylation, formulation, and edible dosing
WIP goods: Schedule and oversee the filling of vape cartridges, capsules, and syringes, troubleshoot filling machines, ensure routine cleaning and preventative maintenance are performed
Third-Party Testing: Scheduling sample pick-ups with the Third-Party Testing lab for both inputs and outputs.
Lab Inventory: Maintaining inventory levels within the lab of all required solvents, tools and consumables.
Small equipment: Perform basic troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs on small equipment such as pumps, vape filling machines, dab dispensers, extraction equipment, chillers, heaters
Working directly with the General Manager to schedule strains for extraction and products for post-processing as needed to maintain a full set of available product SKUs for the sales team.
Ensuring all lab spaces and equipment are consistently cleaned and maintained.
Performing regular safety trainings for all lab staff as well as safety checks on equipment, SOPs and PPE.
Compliance: Consistently maintaining accurate records of inventory and processes within Metrc, the state of Maryland's required seed-to-sale tracking system.
Communication to the General Manager and other leadership on the progress of the lab, state of equipment and upcoming product availability.
Participate in MCA or MOSH inspections when necessary including inventory oversight, process exploration, safety considerations and waste management.
Motivating and encouraging a high degree of enthusiasm and buy-in from direct reports and staff at large.
Addresses low performance quickly, compassionately, and in alignment with company policies.
Collaborates effectively with Human Resources and appropriate partners.
Retains and develops top performers by understanding individuals motivations and providing actionable feedback
All other duties as necessary.
Qualifications we ask you to have:
For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
We ask that you have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related fields; Science or Engineering preferred.
We ask that you have management experience.
General lab experience is preferred.

Work Schedule/Location:
On-site 5 days a week.

You will be asked to carry loads of up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
This position requires arm extending, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to maintain and operate equipment.
As this is a cannabis processing facility, there will be strong odors, bright lights, and various noises throughout the workday.
Employees are asked to wear lab coats, masks, gloves, and hairnets while working with the products. DCM will provide lab coats, masks, gloves, and hair nets to all employees.
